We detect hidden leaks inside and behind appliances — valves, hoses, pumps, and internal lines. Avoid floods and mold before it starts.
Small water leaks inside appliances rarely stay small. A slow drip from a cracked hose, faulty valve, or failing gasket can escalate into serious structural damage. Floor warping, swelling cabinetry, and hidden mold are common outcomes — along with shock risk if water reaches internal electrical components. Higher water bills, cycling issues, and premature part failure are also symptoms of undetected leaks. Most problems go unnoticed until water shows up on the floor — our goal is to find them before that happens.
We inspect both internal and external water paths across all major appliance types. For washing machines, we check the inlet valve, drain pump, and tub seal. On dishwashers, we assess door gaskets, fill hoses, sump housings, and connection clamps. For refrigerators, we check the water inlet valve, ice maker tubing, and dispenser seals. We also examine faucet shutoffs, under-appliance pans, and base cabinets for signs of corrosion or water pooling. If needed, we evaluate nearby flooring and walls for signs of intrusion — especially in stacked or built-in setups.
We use digital moisture meters to scan cabinetry, subflooring, and appliance bases for hidden water traces. For suspected hose or valve leaks, we perform pressure tests to detect loss under load. Optional thermal imaging cameras help trace active water movement inside walls or enclosures. Visual inspection is performed under toe-kicks and rear panels when accessible. Unless required, leak detection is non-invasive — if a panel must be removed, we’ll always confirm with you first.
Once a leak point is found — or early failure is detected — we offer targeted, preventive upgrades. These include replacing aging hoses or clamps, reseating leaky shutoffs, applying anti-drip sealant rated for food zones, and installing water alarms for flood-prone setups. These add-ons are optional but strongly recommended for units in rental properties, co-ops, or high-use kitchens and laundry rooms. Catching a leak before it ruins flooring or cabinetry is far more cost-effective than post-damage repair — and takes less than an hour in most cases.
